OVERVIEW: Our country is great because of the contributions of great people. Telling young children about people can be a fun and rewarding experience. The following is a unique way of presenting interesting facts and tidbits of information about Benjamin Franklin.

LENGTH OF LESSON: The lesson will take approximately 30 minutes.

AUDIENCE: Primary students

OBJECTIVES:

1. Students will know that Benjamin Franklin was an important person in our country's development.

2. Students will develop a mental picture of what Benjamin Franklin looked like.

3. Students will draw a picture of Ben Franklin following oral direction.

PROCEDURE:

CLASSROOM TIPS

1. Have the students use a black crayon. This will eliminate erasures and will give a vivid black outline.

2. Pace yourself when giving the oral directions. Don't wait too long between each drawing. Students should not have time to worry about the drawing.

3. Look at pictures of men in that time era.
